  1. KeKoa CrossFit,

Recently, the employees at Martinez Physical Fitness Center (MPFC) have been enforcing few rules that restrict CrossFitters from properly working out. Just today, one of the employees said that gym chalk is not allowed. I am submitting another ICE comment card to see what's going on, but here's a contact if you prefer to call them: Terry Park (655-9654).

  2. Everyone, please contact the above number and voice your opinion on this. First they stopped us from removing weights from the weight room, now it is chalk, next it will be dropping weights or grunting while you're WODing...
Terry Park is the guy that is in charge of the Schofield Gyms.

  3. I have talked to Terry Park and he is very supportive of crossfitters at Martinez. The problem is that he doesn't spend much time AT Martinez and so he needs people to let him know what is happening. ICE comments are a wonderful way to do this. He reads them all and responds. For example, remember a few weeks ago when the gym took all the small plates away from us. We wrote ICE comments, and Terry read them. He then bought all the new bumper plates that are in our rooms. Please talk to him about what is going on and believe that he will work for our best interest. Also, lets make sure we are being responsible with the equipment that we have. If you use chalk, please sweep the area when you are done. Return equipment to its proper place. And if you notice something is broken, please inform the front desk staff and then write an ICE comment if it doesn't get fixed.

  4. I do agree, MPFC is very supportive of CrossFit and I've submitted an ICE comment card yesterday.

I understand that the room does get messy but I always do my part and clean up after myself. I expect ALL people who work out to do the same.

The reason why this is bothering me is that an employee suddenly started enforcing this rule and stated that it was around for more than 10 years. Why would a gym ban GYM chalks?

I guess I'll find out when they respond to my ICE comment card.
